the 3 best coffee shops in san francisco, period. (2015)
when our friends find out that bedfellows doesn't have a brick and mortar shop, we get asked the same question: "where is the best coffee shop in sf?" the answer, "it's complicated," just makes people frown, so we compiled a list. there's a new generation of amazing, friendly people creating delicious coffee. the following is a list of our favorite (otherwise known as "the best") coffee shops in the great town of sf.
1. paramo coffee - (financial district) serves the best, most consistent, highest quality coffee in town, period. it's a tiny place, so don't expect to sit and get work done. this cafe serves highest-quality batch-brew, pourovers, and espresso drinks...and it serves them at the pace of downtown sf: fast! (4 embarcadero center, 94111)
2. andytown coffee roasters - (outer sunset) these guys roast all their coffee in the back of their long, narrow shop in the fog. if you're at the beaches of san francisco, this is your coffee stop. they can do inimitable things with espresso drinks and their batch-brew coffee is always spot on. genuine, friendly human beings, too. (3655 lawton st., 94122)
3. stanza coffee - (mission district) if you've got some time and want to get some work done, grab a seat outside and a pourover from these scientists. no joke, the baristas know coffee better than you know...anything. with a revolving door of coffees from all of the top roasters in the u.s., its always an experience. make sure to visit their mission location.
